New Series on Wood!
I simply L-O-V-E this silhouette series! Many are just as in love with it, and are willing to purchase it! I plan to make cards/postcards and package them in the future...so exciting!
These are painted with watercolor on watercolor paper (5x7). The paint is a mixture of black acrylic paint with clear tar gel. I put the paint in a small squeeze tube and squeeze the paint to make the images. The effect is high gloss 3-D paint!
I also plan to make a series of them on 5x7 wooden canvases. I am also exploring the idea of creating this series in a larger format - perhaps 8x10...

I would like to experiment with different colors for the background. I decided to choose this turquoise color to suite a particular clientele...Westside...Posh...you know...those who covet the turquoise Tiffany boxes from the jewelry store....and those who choose any color under the sun and pair them with chocolate brown for their wedding colors! It is always fun to see everyone's reaction to this series...they are usually absolutely mesmerized by the stark silhouette against the pop of color in the background!
I really love the images of the birds soaring high...so free...so content...so calm...
These pieces really remind me of how nature should not be taken for granted...nature is beautiful!
